Beef Shish Kabob or Kebabs Recipe 

1 envelope Good Seasons Italian salad dressing mix 
2 pounds sirloin steaks or other
tender cut of beef, cut in 1 to 1 1/2-inch cubes
18 large whole mushroom caps
18 green pepper chunks
15 cherry tomatoes
12 small whole onions or onion wedges


Prepare dressing mix according to package directions. Add beef and coat well with mixture. Cover and refrigerate for 4 to 8 hours. Add vegetables to the beef and toss to coat. Arrange beef and vegetables on skewers. Broil or grill over hot coals to desired doneness. Serve with rice and a tossed salad. 

Menemen – Scrambled Eggs with Vegetables



Ingredients: 2 cups green pepper, chopped 1 cup diced tomato 1 small onion, finely chopped 2 eggs, beaten 3 tbsp oil ½ tsp salt 1 pinch of black pepper (optional)

Place the oil and onions in a pan and sauté the onions for 2-3 minutes over low-medium heat. Then, add peppers and salt. Close the lid and cook until the peppers become soft by stirring occasionally. Add the tomatoes, stir and cook for 5-6 minutes with the lid closed. Finally, add the beaten eggs and stir. It’s done when the eggs are cooked. You can sprinkle some black pepper on top if you like. Menemen is a very good and famous dish for breakfasts. Serve it with bread while still warm.


Beef Pot Pie Recipe 


Ingredients: 1/2 cup chopped onion 4 tablespoons butter 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 cups beef broth 3 cups cubed leftover beef 1 1/2 cups frozen green peas and carrots, cooked and drained 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes pie pastry for 1-crust pie evaporated milk or regular milk

Preparation: Directions for beef pot pie. In a medium saucepan, cook onion in butter until onion is tender. Stir in flour and salt until smooth and bubbly. Stir in beef broth. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until thick and bubbly. Add leftover beef, peas and carrots, and parsley; heat through. Taste and adjust seasonings, adding more salt if necessary. Pour beef mixture into a 2-quart casserole. Prepare pastry; roll out to about 1/2-inch larger than casserole top. Place over hot beef mixture. Cut several slits in the top for steam escape, turn edge under and crimp all around. Brush lightly with milk. Bake beef pot pie at 450° for 20 to 25 minutes. This beef pot pie with leftover beef serves 6  

Spiced Meatballs 


Spiced Meatballs Recipe Ingredients: 1 medium onion, finely minced 2 tablespoons butter 1 1/4 pounds lean ground beef* 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs 1/2 cup milk 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg dash allspice 3 to 4 tablespoons butter or margarine, for cooking meatballs 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 1/2 cups beef broth or bouillon


Preparation: Cook onion in 2 tablespoons of butter; combine with meat, bread crumbs, milk, eggs, and seasonings. Mix together and form into firm balls about 1-inch diameter. Cook in small batches with a little butter or margarine and shake pan frequently to help prevent sticking. When all meatballs have been browned on all sides, stir flour into pan drippings. Gradually stir in beef broth. Stirring constantly, cook over low heat until thickened.
