MURCIA, VISIT IT!

Hello! I’m Antonio from Murcia, Spain, and i’m going to present my beautiful city.

1. Presentation

Murcia is a Spanish city, located in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula on the River Segura. With 442,200 inhabitants Murcia is ranked 7th in the list of municipalities in Spain by population.

2. The weather

It has got a mediterranean weather, with mild winters and hot summers (average temperature: 17,8 ºC) with little rainfall and a lot of sunny days.

3. Monument and attractions

3.1 The Cathedral

The landmark of the city is the Cathedral of Santa Maria, it presents different styles of architecture, especially Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque.

3.2 The Town Hall

It is a building of the XIX century, neoclassical style located in the ‘Plaza de la Glorieta’.

3.3 Segura River

This river crosses the city of Murcia with many beautiful bridges.

3.4 The Casino

It works like a private club, open for tours and other events.

 3.5 Plaza Santo Domingo

It’s a nice place to have a drink or enjoy a walk.

3.6 Museo Salzillo

It’s dedicated exclusively to works by the sculptor Francisco Salzillo.

3.7 El Santuario de La Fuensanta

In this shrine is the image of the Virgen de la Fuensanta, patron saint of the city of Murcia and the orchard.

Murcia city has no beach, but just a half hour we found the sea. The Mar Menor is well known, is a lagoon with environmental values ​​to be protected.

 4. Typical food

4.1 First dish

5.1 Bando de la huerta

All the Murcian dress in the traditional costume and spend a good day in the street
