Limoges and Limousin by Noémie Gouvier

This is the presentation of Limoges. In Limoges there are 133.924 inhabitants. Limoges was based by the Romans at about the year 10 BC under the name of Augustoritum. The cathedral Saint-Etienne is the main church of Limoges.

The city is of tradition butcher. The station of Limoges burnt in 2008 accidentally.

It proclaims itself ” capital of the ceramics ” because of the setting-up still present of  big china houses. Limoges is crossed by the River La Vienne, on which it was originally settled.

Limoges has got a very good gastronomy, with food like «pot au feu» and desserts like «clafoutis.»
